The campy and comical video shows Perry fighting a tiger, painting an elephant's toenail and swinging through the jungle, but the video takes on a much deeper meaning. "Roar" kicks off this new chapter in a her career, and in it, she proves that she's no longer a scared girl; she's empowered, fierce and has found the strength to overcome all adversities. Bye Bye Boyfriend
The video starts off with Perry and her boyfriend crash-landing in the middle of the jungle, and instead of being a concerned about his girlfriend's well-being, he's too busy snapping selfies and having her hold his bags. With a timid demeanor, Perry follows her boyfriend into the jungle night and watches as he gets mauled by the tiger. This is the moment when Perry discovers her inner strength and is now well on her way of finding the tiger and fighting back.
