Katy Perry on beau John Mayer: 'I actually am dating my crush'

Katy Perry might have had a rough end to her marriage with Russell Brand, but she's on to better things in her love life.

 "I actually am dating my crush".  "I had a crush on him for a long time and it so happens we fit together great."


The singer, whose album "Prism" came out this week, also opened up about her marriage.

"It was a new, fun, exciting journey," the pop star said. "But I like how I am now, and I think all things happen for a reason."

Katy Perry roars to top of charts

American singer Katy Perry has clocked up her fourth UK number one with new track Roar, ending Ellie Goulding's three-week reign with Burn.

Roar sold 179,500 copies over the past seven days, becoming the UK's third-fastest selling single of the year so far, the Official Charts Company said.

"I feel like the UK is so ahead of the zeitgeist," Perry told BBC Radio 1. "They are the zeitgeist!"

Earlier this week Perry ended Robin Thicke's 12-week run in the US.

Roar became Perry's eighth US number one, overtaking Thicke's Blurred Lines, which has dominated the US Billboard Hot 100 this summer.

Roar, taken from Perry's forthcoming album Prism, now sits just behind Avicii's Wake Me Up and Blurred Lines ft TI and Pharrell Williams, as the fastest-selling singles of 2013.

This is the moment when Perry discovers her inner strength and is now well on her way of finding the tiger and fighting back.

Katy Perry's "Roar" Music Video Released

Attention all KatyCats!

The world premiere of Katy Perry's music video for "Roar" is finally here—and it's definitely lived up to the hype.

The singer looks stunning in all her Jane of the Jungle glory as she belts out the catchy song.

The video shows her enduring a plane crash and learning how to take care of herself in the wilderness after her boyfriend is eaten by a tiger (think Lost with a campy twist).

And between taking selfies with her pet monkey and painting an elephant's toenails, Katy seems to be having the time of her life in her new home.

 

Also, can we talk about how gorgeous she looks in her full-on glamazon ensemble? The flower-and-leaf skirt combined with the leopard bikini top (hello, Katy's cleavage!) show off the brunette beauty's insanely enviable figure.

The exciting day for Katy didn't end at the release of her music video either.

It was just revealed that "Roar" marks her eighth single to top the Billboard Hot 100 list. Congrats! And she's only just getting started…

"Roar" is the first single off of her forthcoming album Prism. The full album will be released on Oct. 22 and is sure to have plenty other hits featured on it.

Katy Perry has finally triumphed with her brand new single 'Roar' which has impressively ended the 12-week reign of Robin Thicke's summer smash 'Blurred Lines,' boosting the songstress to number one.

The 28-year-old, who debuted the single live at the MTV Video Music Awards last month, has hovered at number two for the last few weeks with 'Roar' after being kept at bay from the top spot by the unstoppable force that is Robin's monster hit 'Blurred Lines,' which features T.I. and Pharrell Williams.

 'Teenage Dreams' star Katy finally has something to celebrate as 'Roar' has managed to shift one place to the coveted spot becoming Katy's eighth Hot 100 number one. When Billboard announced the news on Twitter, Katy simply replied: "WELL THANK U!"
