Taylor Swift Joins the Cast of ‘The Giver’

Taylor Swift is the latest addition to the cast of Phil Noyce’s “The Giver.”


The Weinstein Company and Walden Media’s adaptation of Lois Lowry’s 1993 YA novel stars Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges. Streep will play Chief Elder, while Bridges will be the title character.

Brenton Thwaites, Katie Holmes, Alexander Skarsgard, Odeya Rush and Cameron Monaghan round out the cast of the dystopian drama.
 
Taylor will play Rosemary, the last teen mentored by The Giver before he meets Jonas.

Taylor Swift open to more acting roles

Taylor Swift says she hasn't ruled out taking on more acting roles in the future.

The We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together singer has already played parts on the big and small screen - she has appeared in Valentine's Day, New Girl and CSI - and she has admitted she wouldn't rule out more in the future if the ideal project "came along".

She told E! News: "That's always something that's in the back of my mind, if the right thing came along."

CMA Awards: Taylor Swift, Kacey Musgraves lead nominees

Taylor Swift and Kacey Musgraves are the top nominees for this year's Country Music Association Awards, with six apiece.
Swift will be going for her third entertainer of the year award and also was nominated for album and female vocalist of the year. Newcomer Musgraves also is up for awards in the album and female vocalist categories after nominations were announced Tuesday by Sheryl Crow and Florida Georgia Line.

Taylor Swift, Betty White Enter 'Guinness World Records' Book

Taylor Swift is officially a record breaker, according to the 2014 Guinness World Records. As People  reports, Swift will enter the new edition of the book with the awkwardly specific title "First Solo Female with Two Million-Selling Weeks on the U.S. Albums Chart."

Taylor Swift Reveals Behind-the-Scenes Concert Footage With Jennifer Lopez, Ellie Goulding

Fans at Taylor Swift's four sold-out shows at L.A.'s Staples Center in late August were treated to some extra-special performances by the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Ellie Goulding, Tegan & Sara, and Sara Bareilles. And now fans who weren't at the shows can get in on the action, too. On Friday, Sept. 6, the "Red" singer shared a special behind-the-scenes video about her epic week in L.A., with footage of her surprise guests backstage.

 

"Staples memories. Starring @CherLloyd @TeganAndSara @EllieGoulding @SaraBareilles @JLo," the 23-year-old pop star tweeted, along with a link to the seven-minute clip.

The video opens with Brit singer Cher Lloyd, who joins Swift onstage to sing her hit "Want U Back." Talking about the experience after the show, Lloyd gushes, "I think it went amazingly. It's just a bit crazy because I'm the silly British girl that came to America and just performed with Taylor Swift. I can't wait to show my mom!"
